Roadtrip From Oklahoma to California 2014

travel

After my wife graduated from law school in Norman, OK I flew over and helped her to move her stuff out of her appartment and drive all the way back to San Diego. We basically took the I-40 for three days and then turned left to the I-15 which led us straight to San Diego. It was very fascinating to observe how the landscape changed from day to day. We were almost home when we were stuck for about two hours on the I-15 because of a freeway closure. There were fires everywhere in the Southern California region and the fires hit the road. Anyway, I found it extremely fascinating how quickly the police, firefighters and military responded and sent out support from every corner of the state. There were fire trucks, helicopters and planes available to fight the fires quickly. This was the first time for me to see fires like this. Overall this trip was pretty good and we saw a lot of different things. However, driving for about nine hours a day for three straight days is definitely tiring.
